About Jessie James 

In 2006 Jessica Caulfield set out to start a boutique that would captivate the attention of New Jersey's local fashion followers. More than just a place to buy, Jessica envisioned Jessie James to be a place where women would feel comfortable stopping in just to chat, grabbing a drink with girls or perusing the racks for a little style inspiration. "I set out to create a fashion hang out. So often I'd hear women complain about their latest shopping experience as being uncomfortable and impersonal, and I wanted to change that. I wanted to create a space where women would feel inspired to try new things, embrace their creative side and leave feeling great about themselves. I believe shopping should always be a fun experience!"

Less than a year after opening the first Jessie James in Hoboken, New Jersey the boutique expanded to New York City's West Village in 2007. 

Our Buyer's Take // Q&A with Jessica Caulfield:

What inspires you? 

"I'm inspired by art, travel, street fashion, music, decor and risk takers; whether its with their wardrobe choice or their life path." 

How do you choose a new line for the store?

"I am always on the hunt for new designers. I look to incorporate both new and emerging designers with more established designers. The Jessie James shopper knows what she wants and is looking for her wardrobe to grow with her, so it is important that I find pieces that are fresh and versatile."

What's your wardrobe staple?

"A great blazer allows you to pull any outfit together."

Who's your favorite designer in the store? 

"I am always adding new favorites to my list but I am currently excited about By Malene Berger. The line is 'well-made classic' with a twist." 

What's your favorite part of the job?

"Finding a client the perfect outfit. It never gets old to me!"
